What's True Blessing?
What's True Blessing? Is it money, fame, what is it exactly? Let's talk. Actually let an Apostle talk, I invited an MOG! ππ
Heya people of God.
Happy Sunday,
Last year, I put together topics I'd like to discuss with you and one of it was to discuss βTrue Blessings,'β and I was like ummm nah, I won't write this myself. I gave it to an MOG I respect. People of God get ready to hear the Word.
BLESSING
The term 'Blessing' is often misunderstood and misused in our society. Due to its familiar and commonplace nature, it can be difficult to fully grasp its true meaning and implications.
This has led to a sense of uncertainty and vagueness surrounding the concept, with many people using it to describe anything that brings them joy or success, regardless of whether or not it aligns with traditional definitions of blessing.
In today's world, we live in a time where the end justifies the means, where desires and intentions are often labeled as blessings without any clear definition or protocol.
This has led to a subjective approach to understanding what blessing truly is, with the focus being more on what works rather than what is right or just.
However, it is important to remember that this skewed perception of blessing goes against its original meaning and purpose.
It is crucial for us to understand the true essence of blessing in order to appreciate its significance and value.
To do this, we must examine blessing from three different perspectives. But before delving into these viewpoints, it is important to first understand how the term 'Blessing' was first used and why it was employed in the first place.
By doing so, we can gain a clearer understanding of what constitutes a true blessing and what does not.
Therefore, let us take some time to reflect on this topic in order to gain clarity on what exactly constitutes a blessing. By doing so, we can ensure that we use this term appropriately and honor its true meaning.
As a background study, the Hebrew word for blessing is the word "Barak", meaning to bless and is often used to contrast God's blessing and His curse.
The general idea of this word is one of good favour bestowed on another, hence, it was first mentioned in Gen 1:28. This may also be expressed in the giving of a tangible gift (Gen 33:11;Β 1Sa 25:27) or in the pronouncing of a verbal blessing (Gen 27:36;Β Gen 49:28; Gen 12:2).
Most often, however, this word speaks of God's favour on the righteous (Gen 12:2;Β Mal 3:10). This, by extension is to say that, righteousness preceds blessing - blessing is a resultant effect of righteousness.
"Yeee, I hope you enjoyed the word, the part 2 will come next week."
